Google Pixel 2 XL Specifications Leaked in Full Ahead of Today's Launch

We are only few hours away from Google’s official event where the company is expected to launch the new Pixel smartphones. However, there seems to be no dearth of leaks around the Pixel as a new leak claims to have spilled the beans on innards of the bigger variant, the Pixel 2 XL. The specifications leak comes courtesy of Roland Quandt who has been a reliable source previously for Pixel devices.

The Google Pixel 2 XL is said to feature a 6-inch P-OLED screen. Earlier leaks have already suggestedthat the Pixel 2 XL will sport an 18:9 display – and the newly leaked specifications sheet confirms this, showing a screen resolution of 1440×2880 pixels for the 6-inch P-OLED display that can be expected to be made by LG. The handset is said to come with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top of the screen for protection from scratches. The smartphone runs Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box.

The new specs list claims that the Pixel 2 XL will have three mics with noise cancellation. Unfortunately, the rear camera detail is missing from the leaked listing. The handset is also listed to sport an 8-megapixel front camera with an f/2.4 aperture. Under the hood, the Pixel 2 XL is listed with an octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of storage. Apart from Oreo, the new Pixel smartphone is also said to come with Google Assistant feature out-of-the-box. The leaked list also tip that the Pixel 2 XL will sport an aluminium build and packs 3520mAh battery. Dimensions listed are 157.48×76.2×7.62mm alongside a weight of 175 grams.

Some of the new features that are likely to be highlight of the new Pixel 2 XL include Pixel Visual Core, which may be a new feature linked to the camera; advanced x-axis haptics sensor is also listed in the leaked list and may refer to a feature related to gesture. There’s Adaptive Audio Amplifier feature also being tipped by the new leaked list.

Considering we are merely hours away from the unveiling, we can expect to hear more on the new leaked features when Google executives take the stage during the event.
